kitchen bible

I just got my copy of Bittman's book -- in paperback, as a way to use up what I need to get cheap through the book club -- getting out of it would simplify my life (what, that's not on my list??).
So what recipes do you recommend?

I really like the fluffy pancakes (748).
And the basic tomato sauce is great (130).
I also endorse the crunchy graola (756) and the coconut macaroons (716).
I just tried the shirred eggs (736), but wasn't too impressed. They're kind of a nice of pace from boiled eggs, though.
Today, I was looking through my Betty Crocker cookbook, because I was curious about what to do with hot dogs. It has an amazing looking recipe for "batter franks."

Also, you should either write out the full title and author of the book, or link to it, so that everyone knows what you're talking about.

I guess it will take me awhile to learn blogger etiquette. At this point I expect only R and B to be interested in what I'm writing.

I annotated Brad's copy, so you two should compare. I second the granola (today's breakfast). I also really like the Baked Eggs with Spinach... except I always use cheddar instead of parmesan cheese.

and you should link to something, as I am linking to you on my blog. (But anyone who reads my blog is probably over familiar with Bittman at this point.)
